...and still waiting

I know everyone has been waiting to hear the results of the tests and believe me, I have also been anxiously awaiting to hear back from my doctors. Alas, they finally told me that my CT and bone scan are clean!! However, there is still the issue of the cancer in the lungs that the Pet scan detected so I am off to yet another specialist to review the inconsistencies between the tests.

In the meantime, over a month has passed since I was diagnosed and I still have not started any kind of treatment or scheduled my surgery...which makes me wonder if the cancer will have spread during the time they have spent determining whether the cancer spread!!

Hurrah for the clean scan!!!! Soooo glad to read that, Lindsay!

Your other concerns are indeed valid. Fight the system until you get the care and attention you need. My school'in has taught me that systems bend to those who pitch the loudest fit ;) and that individuals move faster when people pitch their fits 'nicely' ;) Patient advocacy is a tough one ... keep sharing your concerns with many people, just like you are doing here, so they can advocate with you!

Like someone else posted ... and I repeat now ... you are one strong chick, Lindsay!!!!! And again, whoo hoo, for a clean CT scan!!! Fingers crossed about your lungs ... hopefully it's just a little harmless "ick" from the old smokin' days ;)

This is the hardest part, hearing conflicting information from the "professionals" while treatment waits. As Gretchen mentioned, be pleasantly forceful and keep at it until you feel confident that you're receiving the immediate care you need. We are so happy to hear the good news from the recent tests! Thoughts are with you always, Marilyn
